Help using this site

Using the shopping cart

Once you have selected the goods you wish to purchase by placing them in your "shopping basket" or "cart", you will then be asked to go to the "checkout" and the total price including VAT (where applicable) and P&P will be shown at the bottom of the "basket contents" list.

At this point if you have finished shopping select the 'Proceed to Checkout' to confirm your order and move through the checkout process.

If you are paying by Credit Card ensure you have it at the ready at this point!

Once you have checked the items listed for purchase, agreed the price and entered your payment details press the "Make Payment" button.

You have not committed to purchasing anything until you press the "Pay Now" button at the very last stage!

Once you press the "Pay now" button the rest is down to us!

Confirmation of your order will be sent via E-mail within 24 hours. At this point we have agreed to accept the order and the contract between both parties has been entered into.

Please ensure the Terms and Conditions have been read and understood before you place an order. Optomax Ltd have the right at any time to refuse to supply the goods to any customer if they see fit.

The contract between Optomax Ltd and yourself can be terminated at any time prior to the dispatch of your order.

How much do you charge for delivery?

All orders shipped free!

All orders are shipped FREE either by 1st Class Royal Mail or courier depending upon the weight and value of the parcel.

Overseas

Overseas shipping ONLY AVAILABLE TO EUROZONE CONTRIES - Please note that non UK shipping will still be free BUT your order must be £25 or more and you will not receive the free gift, this will help to cover additional shipping costs - PLEASE ONLY ORDER OUTSIDE OF THE UK IF YOU AGREE TO THESE TERMS.

Delivery times

Optomax Ltd will endeavor to dispatch orders within 1 - 2 working days, but customers should allow up to 14 days from the date of the order to accommodate unforeseen circumstances.

If your order has not been dispatched by the 14th working day from the date of order we will contact you to inform you of the reason and give a new delivery date, you are within your rights to cancel your order and receive a full refund if the new delivery date is not acceptable. If for any reason we have not contacted you please email customercare@brightlites.co.uk

How can I pay?

At this time we only accept payment online via a credit or debit card.

Is it safe to give my credit card details?

Yes perfectly safe. In fact, far safer than using your credit card for mail order or bookings by telephone. All credit card details are encrypted from the moment they leave your machine and are processed by Optimal Payments, a world class credit card processing organisation. Your credit card details are not even made available to us so your details are safe.

Can I order even though I don't live in the UK?

Yes, with limitations. We now ship overseas TO EUROZONE CONTRIES ONLY - Please note that non UK shipping will still be free BUT your order must be £25 or more and you will not receive the free gift, this will help to cover additional shipping costs - PLEASE ONLY ORDER OUTSIDE OF THE UK IF YOU AGREE TO THESE TERMS.

Returns policy & procedure

Should any goods that arrive be unsuitable, or prove damaged, Optomax Ltd will accept the returned goods as long as they are still in original condition and packaging and are returned to Optomax Ltd within 10 days of dispatch date. Optomax will then either replace, repair or refund at your discretion. In the event that we are not in a position to repair or replace returned goods a full refund will always be given.

In order to make a return:

  • Optomax Ltd need to be notified within 10 days of dispatch by email and the Customer Services Department will issue an RMA number which must be written on the outside of the return packaging. NO returned goods will be accepted without an RMA number issued to you by our Customer Care Department.
  • Cut and complete the bottom part of the packing slip with the reason for return and the RMA number supplied by us. Ensure the package is secure and return to the address below. For your own protection and peace of mind, we strongly recommend that the goods are returned via Recorded Delivery or Registered Post.

Optomax Ltd will accept NO responsibility for any goods lost or damaged whilst in return transit unless the goods are deemed to be faulty on the customers receipt. For this reason we urge you to pay the little extra for transit insurance.

Once Optomax Ltd have received the goods in the original condition with all original packaging, then, and only then, will Optomax Ltd become responsible for exchange, repair or refund, as agreed.

What if I am not happy with the goods or service I receive?

Please let us know as soon as possible. Our aim is to be one of the UK's premiere online e-tailing sites. We can only do this by maintaining the highest standards of Customer Care excellence. We would appreciate your feedback by email, all problems WILL be dealt with promptly. If you simply want to pass comment on our site or service, good or bad, you can do so by filling in and submitting our online feedback form by clicking here.

Pricing and availability

All goods are subject to availability and if Optomax Ltd do not supply the goods for any reason you will not be charged for them. A refund will be made for any payment already accepted. Optomax Ltd may from time to time offer equivalent products, which will only be despatched should you agree. We will always ensure that the product is an equivalent or better substitution for the product you originally ordered.

Back orders

Whilst we strive to achieve "zero tolerance" with regard to back orders (orders that cannot be fulfilled within normal delivery timeframes due to supplier delays) by maintaining our own stock levels there may be instances which, due to circumstances beyond our control, back orders cannot be avoided.

You will be informed by email or telephone when we know this to be the case and we will ask you to decide whether to wait or to cancel the products on back order.

Back orders will be fulfilled as soon as the stock is received from the supplier.

Order cancellation

The contract made between both parties can be terminated without any penalty if the cancellation takes place before the dispatch of goods from Optomax Ltd.

If your goods are delayed beyond our specified delivery times you have the right to contact Optomax Ltd to cancel your order or demand a delivery date.

VAT, TAX and custom duties

All products on the web site are shown priced INCLUSIVE of VAT at the current rate. Overseas orders may attract import tax and custom duties you will be responsible for these, ANQ will not be repsonsible for any import charges which may be levied for shipments outside of the UK.

Why recycle?


Unwanted electrical equipment is the UKs fastest growing type of waste.

Many electrical items can be repaired or recycled, saving natural resources and the environment.  If you do not recycle, electrical equipment will end up in landfill where hazardous substances will leak out and cause soil and water contamination – harming wildlife and also human health.

We can help


We are pleased to offer our customers the chance to recycle their old electrical items.

If you bought a new WEEE item from us we will accept your old equivalent WEEE item and prevent it going into a landfill site by disposing of it safely. You must return their WEEE item to us within 28 days of purchasing your new item. Methods of return include sending by post utilising the returns label on your invoice, or posting to:

Alternatively, by prior arrangement items, can be dropped off in person at the above address during normal business hours.

To remind you that old electrical equipment can be recycled, it is now marked with a crossed-out wheeled bin symbol. Please do not throw any electrical equipment (including those marked with the crossed out wheeled bin symbol) in your bin.

What is WEEE?


The Waste Electrical or Electronic Equipment (WEEE) Directive requires countries to maximise separate collection and environmentally friendly processing of these items.  In the UK, distributors (including retailers) must provide a system which allows all customers buying new electrical equipment the opportunity to recycle their old items free of charge. Those establishing their own take-back scheme must as a minimum offer all customers buying new electrical equipment free take back of their old electricals on a like-for-like basis.
